Alan Shearer was not happy on Twitter following Newcastle United’s 1-1 draw with Watford.
The Magpies squandered their half-time lead after a Sean Longstaff rocket put us ahead.
But despite creating a plethora of chances, Newcastle were unable to extend their lead. Ismaila Sarr eventually equalised from a corner, and the Hornets nearly went on to win the game.

They thought they had late on when Josh King found the net. However, it was ruled out for offside by VAR.
Shearer has given his verdict on Twitter, writing: “So many chances. Should have scored at least 5.”
Alan Shearer is spot on with Newcastle assessment
The Toon legend is bang on. It’s hard to believe Newcastle didn’t win that game.
We created so many golden opportunities, but were unable to apply the finishing touch.
Longstaff could’ve had a second before half-time, while Joe Willock missed a huge one-on-one chance shortly before Sarr’s equaliser. Miguel Almiron and Joelinton also came close.
Newcastle still could’ve won it after Watford’s equaliser, and really should have.

Jacob Murphy’s stoppage time miss was embarrassing, trying to dink the goalkeeping after running clean through on goal.
The draw means it is now six Premier League games without a win. The performance against Watford was decent, but we’ve been made to rue our missed chances.
Once again, not good enough from Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United.
