Newcastle United recorded an incredible victory over Arsenal on Saturday, but they also suffered more injury agony.
Dan Burn was forced off at half time with a back problem, and it is currently unclear how long Newcastle will be without him.
However, it is now certain that Jacob Murphy is set for an extended spell on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury.
It was a major shock to see him named on the bench, with Eddie Howe giving no hint before the game that he was going to be involved against Arsenal.
But he certainly was involved, and the 28-year-old played a role in Anthony Gordon’s winner – a goal that was awarded in controversial fashion. But it was awarded, much to the anger of the Arsenal faithful and the adulation of the Toon Army.
Murphy had only been on the pitch for a minute when he helped Newcastle score the opener, but he was then forced off before full time. He suffered a reoccurrence of the shoulder injury that he sustained against Borussia Dortmund, and Howe has now confirmed that he is going to be out of action for three months.

Jacob Murphy comments on his ‘risk’ after Newcastle beat Arsenal
After the game, Murphy took to Instagram to comment on his injury and explain why he was surprisingly included in the squad that beat Arsenal.
He wrote: “Tonight was a risk but a risk I felt was worth taking to be out there and fight with my team! 3 big points.”
Murphy put his body on the line for Newcastle
It just shows the lengths that these players are willing to go to for Newcastle United. Murphy put his body on the line, and it helped the Magpies pick up a vital three points.
Sadly, Murphy’s risk backfired and he is now going to be out of action for a long time. But when the season is over, we may look back at these three points and realise just how important Murphy’s sacrifice was.
But Murphy is a big loss, and it is such a shame for him that he will now need to undergo an operation on his shoulder.
