Newcastle United’s FA Cup journey will continue after a 3-1 win over Bromley at St James’ Park.

The winning streak continues! Newcastle United have now won eight straight games across all competitions and remain in the running for silverware.

However, Sunday’s FA Cup clash against League Two outfit Bromley started with a shock goal from the visitors just eight minutes in.

Lewis Miley marked his return to the starting lineup with a remarkable equaliser from range, and Newcastle then took complete control in the second half with Anthony Gordon scoring from the spot and William Osula scoring his first in a Newcastle shirt since his summer move.

Newcastle have now booked their spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup, where they will travel to face Birmingham City.

Eddie Howe trusted in his squad and fielded a heavily-rotated side against Bromley, and Miley in particular has given him some food for thought.

Lewis Miley’s spectacular display vs Bromley

After missing the start of the season with an injury, Miley played his first 90-minute match of the season against Bromley.

Howe has been careful re-introducing Miley to his lineup in order to protect him, but he unleashed him on Sunday and the 18-year-old was the best player on the pitch.

Eddie Howe’s midfield dilemma

During Newcastle’s winning streak, Howe has found a wonderful balance in his side, especially in midfield.

The trio of Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton and Sandro Tonali has clicked – with the latter thriving in a deeper role.

However, Miley showed on Sunday that he is more than ready to return to the starting lineup and it is now down to Howe to find minutes for him in the coming weeks.

It also provides a further challenge for Sean Longstaff, who will also want more minutes in midfield after losing his starting spot.

Howe has lots to think about in midfield, starting with Newcastle’s next match against Wolves on Wednesday evening.
