Newcastle United have booked their spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup after beating Bromley 3-1.
The Magpies came from behind to extend their winning run across all competitions to eight matches.
League Two side Bromley opened the scoring to shock St James’ Park, but a heavily-rotated Newcastle United side didn’t panic and fought their way back into the tie.
Lewis Miley scored a brilliant equaliser from range before Anthony Gordon converted from the spot to give the hosts a lead. William Osula then scored his first goal for Newcastle to cap off another victory.
Here are five things learned from Newcastle’s FA Cup victory.

William Osula scores his first Newcastle goal
With Alexander Isak handed a rare rest, summer signing William Osula was given the chance to lead the line for Newcastle.
The 21-year-old took his opportunity with both hands and put in a superb performance in front of a packed-out St James’ Park.
Osula added to Newcastle’s lead in the second half with a well-taken goal after a brilliant run. Hopefully the first of many in black and white.
Martin Dubravka is here to stay?
After starring against Arsenal, it looked as though Martin Dubravka waved goodbye to fans.
That is because Dubravka’s move to Saudi Arabia was imminent. But Newcastle chiefs have performed a U-turn and now want Dubravkva to stay. Howe made that very clear by starting him against Bromley.
He won’t want to look back at Bromley’s opener, but it seems Dubravkva will have more games to look forward to in a Newcastle shirt.
Lewis Miley returns with a bang
Eddie Howe rotated his midfield against Bromley which allowed Lewis Miley to return to the starting lineup.
The 18-year-old certainly gave Howe some food for thought after scoring an incredible goal and impressing in midfield.
Howe has raved about Newcastle’s midfield strength which has made it difficult for Miley to regain his starting spot, but he did enough against Bromley to earn more minutes in the coming weeks.
Trevan Sanusi makes Newcastle breakthrough
Howe did rotate his side for the FA Cup clash, but still fielded a strong Newcastle side at St James’ Park.
He did find space for academy star Trevan Sanusi on the bench though, and the talented 17-year-old came off the bench in the second half to make his debut.
Sanusi has impressed Newcastle staff in training and he is viewed as one of the club’s most promising young players. He showed why on Sunday with an impressive performance out wide.
Silverware is on the cards
Newcastle are firing on all fronts this season with the Magpies currently chasing Champions League football from fifth place in the Premier League table.
A two-goal advantage in the Carabao Cup semi-finals means Newcastle are just 90 minutes away from a trip to Wembley.
Sunday’s victory means Newcastle are now through to the fourth round of the FA Cup. Howe deserves serious credit for setting up what could be a hugely exciting climax to the season.
