Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has praised Jude Bellingham after England beat Senegal on Sunday night.
The Three Lions secured their place in the World Cup quarter finals with a 3-0 win over the AFCON champions, with Bellingham the star of the show once again.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder was outstanding in the opener against Iran, and he was even better in Sunday night’s victory.
Bellingham started in midfield alongside Declan Rice and Jordan Henderson, and provided a moment of magic to give England the lead.
His box to box run saw him played in down the left, where he pulled it back to Henderson to score England’s first goal. It was a vital goal at a vital time, with Senegal enjoying the brighter moments in the first half.
But Bellingham showed his class and composure to help England go in front, as Gareth Southgate’s side went on to win 3-0.
Wilson’s message to Bellingham as England beat Senegal
After the game, Bellingham posted a message on his official Instagram account.
Alongside a picture of his passionate celebration with Henderson, he wrote: “Massive win. Into the quarters we go!!!”
It prompted a lot of responses, with the likes of Reece James, Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice replying. There were also comments from Chunkz, Nathan Redmond and Nigel Quashie…
Newcastle’s number nine Callum Wilson also sent a message, simply writing: “Young King.”
Imagine Bellingham at Newcastle…
Bellingham is currently playing alongside three Newcastle players – Wilson, Kieran Trippier and Nick Pope. They were all on the bench for the win over Senegal, watching on as the Three Lions put on a show in Qatar.
And watching Bellingham was a joy to behold. He is such a complete player for someone who is only 19-years-old. He has shown end product at this World Cup, while he also possesses a great sense of awareness off the ball. The former Birmingham City ace was snapping into tackles and winning back possession, proving he isn’t just a luxury player.
It is a real joy to watch Bellingham in action, and this is only the beginning of what is set to be an illustrious career.
He is shining on the international stage, just like he has been doing in Germany for Borussia Dortmund. However, it surely won’t be long before he is playing in the Premier League.
Top flight clubs will be queuing up to sign Bellingham, with Liverpool heavily linked. But just imagine how good it would be to see him at Newcastle. Bellingham and Bruno Guimaraes could probably take us to the Premier League title!
Fans have been hoping that Wilson has been in James Maddison’s ear about a move to St James’ Park, but convincing Bellingham would be even better.
Would he get in the team ahead of Joe Willock or Sean Longstaff though? I’m not 100% sure.
