Newcastle United are reportedly closing in on signing another exciting youngster in Liverpool starlet Isaac Moran.
It’s been a slow start to the summer transfer window for Newcastle United, with the club missing out on all their top attacking targets so far.
Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Joao Pedro have all opted for moves elsewhere and Anthony Elanga might do, too.
It’s still early, but it must be frustrating for Eddie Howe, who wants to improve his squad ahead of next season’s Champions League campaign.
Newcastle have been active in bringing in prospects for the future, though, with Antonio Cordero brought in on a free and Park Seung-soo expected to sign as well.
Now Newcastle are reportedly close to bringing in Liverpool prodigy Isaac Moran and here’s what you need to know.

Moran, aged just 15 at the time, made his breakthrough to the Liverpool Under-18 side last season and is very highly rated at the club.
However, he has now left for opportunities elsewhere.

Moran was born on March 14, 2009, and as of July 2025, he is 16 years old.
He plays as a midfielder.
There aren’t many stats available for Moran yet due to the age level he has been playing at. However, he has played games for Liverpool’s Under-18s and England Under-15s, even captaining the Young Lions.

Isaac Moran to Newcastle United transfer rumours
The Daily Mail reports that Newcastle are ‘poised to pull off a coup’ by signing Moran after he allowed his contract to expire at Anfield.
The Reds wanted to keep Moran, but it’s reported he ‘turned down the offer of a scholar’s contract at Liverpool’s academy and left the club.’
Newcastle will be able to sign him on a free transfer but, since Moran is under the age of 23, they will have to pay training compensation to Liverpool. If the clubs can’t agree a fee, then it will go to a tribunal.
