Newcastle United might be closing in on another big signing.
Having already brought Sandro Tonali to the club, Newcastle appear to have Leicester forward Harvey Barnes in their sights.
The 25-year-old was strongly linked with a move to St James’ Park over the course of the weekend, with the Magpies reportedly willing to pay up to £35m.
It is thought the one-cap England international had previously been valued at a whopping £60m but Newcastle look to be nearing a deal for much cheaper than that.
Patience has again been a virtue for the club and, according to The Times, things are moving quickly.

Indeed, they claim Newcastle have taken a significant step towards signing Barnes.
Fresh talks with Leicester are said to have moved the deal along and there is a hope an agreement can be struck at around £35m.
Interestingly, the report adds that it would take a large chunk out of the remaining budget this summer, with Tonali already setting the club back millions.
They also add Barnes is keen on the move up to St James’ Park and there is a confidence he will soon be a Newcastle player.
Big signing for Newcastle
Hailed as “unbelievable” by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp for a performance against his side in 2021, Barnes looks a step up on Newcastle’s current wide options in terms of goals.
Even during a relegation campaign with the Foxes last season, he managed to outscore everyone in a black and white shirt other than Callum Wilson.
Though Miguel Almiron enjoyed his best season last time out, it would be fascinating to see how Barnes would translate those goals into what is undoubtedly better team than the who dropped into the Championship.
That kind of firepower could prove a real asset.
