Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to a claim that Newcastle United are eyeing a potential transfer for Joe Rodon.
The Daily Mail reported last night that the Magpies have five players on their transfer radar at the moment.
They are Sven Botman, Matthias Ginter, Mohamed Elneny, Lloyd Kelly and Rodon.
Rodon has been with Spurs since last year, signing from Swansea City for around £11 million.
The Wales international has clocked up 20 appearances so far this season, and he is currently behind the likes of Eric Dier, Ben Davies, Cristian Romero and Davinson Sanchez in the pecking order.
Newcastle’s need for defensive reinforcements is crystal clear.
Only Norwich City have shipped more goals than the Magpies in the Premier League so far.
Eddie Howe oversaw the team’s first clean sheet of the season last weekend against Burnley.
But Newcastle definitely need to improve.
Rodon, arguably, is not a name too many Newcastle fans would have been expecting the club to be linked with.

On social media, news of Newcastle’s apparent interest in Joe Rodon has reached Tottenham supporters.
On the face of it, it seems like most Spurs fans wouldn’t be opposed to him getting a move.
Rodon isn’t getting many minutes right now – since the arrival of Antonio Conte he has played just 54 minutes against Mura in the Europa Conference League.
