Newcastle United could be set to reunite with a former goalkeeper this summer.
Indeed, Newcastle United need to boost their homegrown quota in preparation for next season’s Champions League.
As per UEFA rules, clubs must submit a squad list containing at least four players who were on their books between the ages of 15 and 21 for a minimum of three years.
With that in mind, three names are in the frame to replace the outgoing John Ruddy.
Ruddy is set to leave Newcastle upon the expiration of his one-year contract and he could be replaced by one of three former academy graduates.

Newcastle United target Tim Krul, Fraser Forster and Jak Alnwick
According to talkSPORT, Newcastle have all of Tim Krul, Fraser Forster and Jak Alnwick on their radar.
Krul is set to be released by Luton, while Forster is leaving Tottenham after the north London club opted not to extend his contract.
Alnwick, meanwhile, still has a year to go on his contract at Cardiff.
All came through the Newcastle United academy system, so they would help the club with the UEFA rules set to come into play.
What Eddie Howe has confirmed about Newcastle United’s goalkeeper plan
The Newcastle United squad contains several goalkeepers already.
Still, with Ruddy set to go and perhaps other departures on the cards, a space could indeed open up.
Nick Pope has been linked with Leeds, while Martin Dubravka is of interest to Celtic. The fact Odysseas Vlachodimos has hardly featured since joining from Nottingham Forest would suggest he’s not really in the first-team fold, too.
Howe has confirmed Newcastle will address their goalkeeper situation this summer, admitting having so many players available in that position has been “difficult”.
Still, adding players of such profile as Krul, Forster or Alnwick does make sense given the UEFA rules.
