Some Newcastle United fans have been reacting to a report that has claimed the club made contact with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a move for Idrissa Gueye.
According to L’Equipe, the Magpies and the French giants have come to an agreement over the 31-year-old, but a move today is unlikely.
That’s because the player is apparently not keen to move to St. James’ Park, with Gueye rejecting a last-gasp switch (via Daily Mail).
Links surfaced last night about Newcastle’s interest in the former Everton star, who has been struggling for minutes since the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino.
The Senegal international doesn’t appear to be in the immediate plans of the Argentine coach, and Newcastle are in the market for a midfielder on loan before the deadline.
But it seems Gueye will not be moving to Newcastle barring a shock U-turn at the eleventh hour from the player.
