Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette.
The Magpies are struggling badly at the moment, and really need to bring in new players.

There is still a couple of months to go until the transfer window opens.
Whoever comes in as the new sporting director has a big job on, and the recruitment has got to be spot on. The threat of relegation is obviously very real.
In the first window, Newcastle will not be able to sign the world’s best players. It is simply unrealistic.
It is therefore no surprise to be reading about links to the likes of Lacazette.
Interestingly, Lacazette is into the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium.

The £46.5 million Frenchman has been with the Gunners since the summer of 2017 and an extension for the player doesn’t appear likely.
That’s despite pundit Paul Merson suggesting he should be kept by Mikel Arteta.
It will be interesting to see if an offer from Newcastle is forthcoming.
Arguably, there is need for another centre-forward. The backup options to Callum Wilson at St. James’ Park simply don’t cut the mustard.
Lacazette, 30, obviously has lots of Premier League experience and can play in a partnership.

Newcastle fans react to Lacazette transfer claim
On social media, fans have been giving their reactions to the speculation about Lacazette.
It seems most people would love the idea of Lacazette – a man who has outscored Wilson every season since his arrival in England – signing for a potential cut-price fee:
