Lucas Digne is reportedly in advanced talks with Aston Villa ahead of a proposed move, following recent speculation about a potential transfer to Newcastle United.
The France international is leaving Everton, having had a falling out with Rafa Benitez.
The full-back is seeking pastures new, and has been occupying the gossip columns for a good few weeks now.

It had been reported that Newcastle had tabled a bid for the former Barcelona player.
Digne would undoubtedly improve Newcastle’s backline, which has shipped goals far too regularly this season.
But it looks like the chances of Newcastle landing Digne are all but over now.
According to Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett, the 28-year-old is in advanced talks with Villa about a move.
Apparently, personal terms are not expected to be an issue.
The transfer fee has not yet been agreed, but Dorsett reports it could be somewhere between £20-25 million.
Newcastle’s position may have cost them over Lucas Digne
Lucas Digne joining Aston Villa is a difficult one to take.
He easily has the quality to play for a top side in Europe and yet, it seems he could be on the way to Villa Park.
Perhaps if Newcastle had been higher up the table at this point, he might have been more keen to move to St. James’ Park.

Whatever his motive, Newcastle can’t be cut about it. The club need to move on and ensure they strengthen the left-back position.
That said, a new centre-back and a new striker should be the priorities.
