Newcastle United are facing competition for Cameron Carter-Vickers in the form of Bournemouth.

According to The Telegraph, the Championship side have again come to the table for the USA international.

The Cherries had Carter-Vickers down at the Vitality Stadium last season.

He made 26 appearances in total for the club.

He didn’t make his debut until January, with the 23-year-old suffering an innocuous ankle injury in training shortly after joining.

Once Carter-Vickers recovered, he became a mainstay in their defence and helped them reach the play-offs.

It seems they’re keen to take him back, which is a potential frustration for Newcastle.

It was reported last month that the Magpies had made contact with Spurs over Carter-Vickers.

The Northern Echo also reported in May that Newcastle had an interest.

Another target to go begging in Carter-Vickers?

It is looking more and more likely that Newcastle will head into that first game with West Ham United without a single new face.

Bournemouth wanting Carter-Vickers back is not good news if the Magpies really want him.

The star, valued at £5 million by Spurs, has previously said he would be open to another spell (Bournemouth Echo).
