According to Tutto Mercato Web, Parma have reached an agreement with OGC Nice for Wylan Cyprien.
In earlier reports from L’Equipe and Foot Mercato (via GFFN), Newcastle’s interest in the Frenchman was revealed, while the Ligue 1 side’s asking price was also mentioned. Cyprien is valued at just €10 million (£9.2 million) by the French side.
Nothing is official yet, although Parma’s advancing interest in the 25-year-old looks worrying for the Magpies’ hopes of landing him.

Cyprien appears to be a real midfield maestro, netting eight goals and setting up five more in all competitions last season while operating at defensive-midfield, centre-midfield and attacking-midfield – he can do it all.
The Les Abymes-born footballer’s price-tag is so low because he will be out of contract with OGC Nice at the end of the season, and would be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with interested clubs as soon as January as GFFN’s report states.
WhoScored shows our current midfield options – Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden, Sean Longstaff and Matty Longstaff – scored ten goals combined last term, which proves that they aren’t the most attacking bunch.

For Cyprien to score just two fewer than that tally alone speaks volumes as to the type of midfielder he is – his ability to impact the final third is something that we sorely lack under Steve Bruce.
If we are to land the former Lens man, it seems like we need to move quickly.
