Newcastle United midfielder Matty Longstaff is reportedly wanted by Championship outfit Watford.
The Watford Observer are reporting that the 20-year-old is wanted on loan by the Hornets before tomorrow evening’s deadline.
They claim that Newcastle could be open to the idea of letting him leave temporarily, as they are considering bringing someone else in.
The likes of Olivier Ntcham, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Joe Willock and Hamza Choudhury are all being considered according to the Daily Mail.
Should one of them join, it would undoubtedly impact the potential for Longstaff to get regular minutes.
The Watford Observer add that although they do want Longstaff, they are happy to wait as they have just signed Dan Gosling.
Longstaff has made just five appearances so far this season, and has struggled for opportunities this term with the likes of Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden, Jeff Hendrick and older brother Sean Longstaff all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Newcastle should consider letting the younger Longstaff brother leave on loan in the next 24 hours.
Some fans have been hoping to see more of him, but he seems to be quite far away from regular starter status at the moment, and he needs to be playing.
If a new midfielder it come in tomorrow as expected, then having a stint in the Championship could be really good move for him.
