Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman is reportedly now a target for Celtic.
According to the Chronicle, the Scottish giants have joined the hunt for the 24-year-old.
Woodman has just finished his second season on loan at Swansea City, and discussions will now take place about the next step for him.
He has stated his desire to play, and talked up how much he has enjoyed his time at Swansea and life in Wales.
The Championship club want to sign him permanently, but it remains to be seen whether that potential deal comes to fruition.
Woodman finished the 2020/21 season as the Golden Glove winner, and his stock is certainly high.
Apparently Celtic are now looking at Woodman, having failed to land him in 2018.
Woodman headed to Aberdeen that summer, but the Hoops could make a fresh attempt to land him in the next window.
Potential for a big sale
Celtic’s interest in Woodman is great news.
Newcastle supposedly don’t have a great deal to spend this summer so player sales will be important for boosting the transfer kitty.
Martin Dubravka and Karl Darlow are two great options and so that will potentially see Newcastle more open to cashing in.
Hopefully there ends up being plenty of clamour from the interested teams – supposedly Southatmpon and Arsenal are also keen – so that a big sale can be made.
