Newcastle United were reportedly one of a few teams to have shown interest in Solly March, but the player is signing a new deal with Brighton.
90min bring a report today about the Albion star’s desire to remain at the Amex Stadium.

March joined Brighton in 2011 from Lewes, and has played a big part in their success over the past few years.
March has racked up 204 appearances for the Seagulls, and scored 14 goals and made 20 assists.
In recent times he has been plying his trade as a wing-back.
That would perhaps explain why Newcastle were looking at him.

But it seems Newcastle – as well as Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Leeds United and Burnley – are all set to miss out.
It is unclear what the length of the new contract will be.
The news – if accurate – is a real boost for Brighton, who stood to lose the player for free next summer.
March would have been a good addition
Newcastle fans won’t be surprised to learn the club were interested but nothing is to come of it.
It’s a shame as March would have been a good addition on the cheap due to his contract situation.

But it’s easy to understand why the £30,000-a-week star (Spotrac) is staying at Brighton.
He’s a regular pick there and has the trust of Graham Potter and love of the fans. Also, that team has potential to do good things with the right recruitment.
