Newcastle United are reportedly set to sign versatile young defender Remi Savage.
According to The Athletic, the defender will head for St. James’ Park following the end of his contract with Liverpool.

The report explains that the 19-year-old was actually offered a one-year extension at Melwood.
But Savage declined in favour of embarking on a new challenge.
The Reds will apparently get a compensation fee of around £250,000.
Savage joined the Liverpool academy as an U9 and has been a very promising talent coming through the youth ranks.

He made his U18s debut as an U16 player under Steven Gerrard in 2017/18.
He won the FA Youth Cup in the 2018/19 season, and signed his first professional contract last year.
The development comes after Newcastle released a host of young players recently.
Highly rated talents like Owen Bailey, Yannick Toure and Ludwig Francillette were all let go.
Academy needs strengthening
Hopefully Savage – who idolises Virgil van Dijk (via Liverpool official) – will make for a good pickup by the club.
In the eyes of a lot of supporters, the academy could be a bit more productive in terms of getting players into the first-team.
