Newcastle United are said to be monitoring the progress of red-hot Gabon striker Aaron Boupendza.
That’s the claim from 90min, who state that a plethora of British clubs are on the 24-year-old’s tail following a stunning start to life with Turkish side Hatayspor.

Boupendza has bagged 18 goals in 26 Super Lig games so far, which makes him the division’s top scorer.
The ex-Bordeaux attacker made headlines earlier this season for scoring four goals in the first-half against Antalyaspor earlier this season, and his deadliness in front of goal since then has not let up.
Boupendza’s form has alerted many clubs ahead of the 2021 summer transfer window.
It’s explained that Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City, West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Rangers and Celtic are all attentive to the star’s exploits.
Arsenal are also named as interested, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang claimed to have urged Arsenal officials to sign his talented international teammate, suggesting he rates him very highly.
Hatayspor are said to value their asset at around £8.5 million.
Newcastle face near-impossible task
Newcastle are in desperate need of bringing in a decent striker this summer with Andy Carroll and Dwight Gayle both out of contract and Joelinton just not cutting it, and Boupendza definitely seems like sharpshooter.

But Magpies officials can probably forget all about it if the club is relegated from the Premier League.
Even in the event of survival, a move for Boupendza would probably be very difficult to pull off given the reported level of interest in him.
