Marcos Rojo is reportedly set to terminate his contract at Manchester United, amid transfer links to Newcastle United.
Argentine outlet Infobae has claimed the 30-year-old is in the process of ripping up his current deal at Old Trafford which would allow him to become a free agent.
That is something the player now expects to happen, having not made a single appearance for the Red Devils this season.

The development comes after Newcastle were linked with a move for the player in December (The Athletic) and again earlier this month (Informacion).
Should Newcastle wish to make a play for Rojo though it may not be straightforward.
Apparently the South America has an offer from Estudiantes, and Boca Juniors and MLS side LA Galaxy are also in the frame.
Rojo came to the Premier League in the summer of 2014 on the watch of Louis van Gaal, and has clocked up 76 appearances in the Premier League and 122 in total for Manchester United.
An opportunity for Newcastle?
He is far from being one of the best central defenders in the Premier League, but the fact Rojo could be free might appeal.

The Newcastle defence has been a soft touch this season and Rojo could add some much needed steel.
With Bruce insistent on using three central defenders, the £80,000-a-week stat (Spotrac) could actually really suit playing as a left-sided centre-half.
