Newcastle United are reportedly in the hunt to sign centre-back Udoka Chima, but face competition from Benfica.
All Nigeria Soccer have reported the Magpies are keen on the player, who is currently without club.

Apparently Newcastle have firmed up their interest in the 19-year-old, who used to play for Burnley.
Chima was released by the Clarets at the end of the 2019/20 season, and has been on the lookout for a new club since.
The youngster recently trialled with Benfica, and now Newcastle have invited him down to their academy to take a closer look at him according to All Nigeria Soccer.
He will apparently be offered a contract if he impresses.
The report adds that Braga are also interested in signing Chima.
Good luck Chima
Hopefully the teenager does well if he is indeed set for a trial with Newcastle.

Clearly he has some potential about him if the likes of Benfica and Braga are interested.
It would be nice for Newcastle to ultimately bring through a defender from the academy, especially given the age of the current first-team options.
