Newcastle United have been handed a boost in their reported pursuit of Hamza Choudhury.
According to Sky Sports’ Transfer Centre live blog (9.40am, February 1, 2021), Leicester City are prepared to let the midfielder leave the club on loan today, but any exit would be dependent on them getting a replacement in.

Newcastle and also West Bromwich Albion are ready to swoop for the 23-year-old, who would apparently be keen to join up with Steve Bruce at St. James’ Park.
Choudhury has struggled for minutes this season at the King Power Stadium.
Manager Brendan Rodgers has handed him just 10 appearances so far, with most of those coming in the Europa League.

It is understood that Choudhury is one of several midfield targets for the Magpies today, with Joe Willock, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Olivier Ntcham having all been linked (Daily Mail).
It could be that Choudhury to Newcastle will be dependent on Leicester’s reported pursuit of Nathaniel Chalobah.
The Foxes are said (Sky Sports) to be on the tail of the Watford star, who would theoretically be a Choudhury replacement.
Choudhury and one other
At this point in the day, Choudhury seems the likeliest incoming for Newcastle.

But the club cannot be content with just him – they need someone in addition that can provide a creative spark.
Choudhury is a defensive midfielder whose job involves breaking up play and recycling possession – his signing along will not appease supporters.
