Jarrod Bowen has been linked with a move to Newcastle ever since the summer. But the Magpies didn’t stump up the money then, and it doesn’t look like they will now either.
Amid talk of Ademola Lookman arriving on loan, a report from the Telegraph has explained why we probably won’t be seeing Bowen in black and white this month.

The report states that Hull have quoted a price of “more than £20 million” for the forward, with the Tigers still dreaming of reaching the playoffs. Without Bowen, they’d have no chance.
The Telegraph believe Newcastle’s interest in Lookman is a sign that the club don’t believe they can get Bowen. That’s probably a fair assessment, but it’s a shame we probably won’t be signing the 23-year-old. He’s been on fire for Hull, scoring 16 goals so far this season.
While it’s good to see we’ve moved on quickly and identified another target, the pressure will be on Lookman to deliver the same level of quality that Bowen would have provided.

With the form he’s been in, the Hull man would have arrived full of confidence and ready to hit the ground running. In contrast, Lookman has played just four times this season and might take a while to get up to speed.
Hopefully being priced out of a move for Bowen isn’t something we live to regret. The Telegraph claim that Newcastle could revisit Bowen in the summer, but will it be too late?
