Former Newcastle United winger Florian Thauvin could be on his way back to the Premier League.
According to Eurosport, the Frenchman has emerged as a target for Leicester City, whose manager Brendan Rodgers is said not to be convinced by Cengiz Under.
The Turkey international joined the Foxes last summer from AS Roma, but has failed to become a regular in the side.
He’s on loan at the King Power Stadium, but seemingly has work to do to get a permanent move there.
Thauvin has flourished since leaving Newcastle.
The 28-year-old only had half a season at St. James’ Park before returning to Marseille (initially on loan), where he has really impressed creatively.
Thauvin – who was sold for around £9.8 million (via Express) – has scored 85 goals and 60 assists in 266 appearances across his two stints for the club.
69 of those goals have come in his second spell, which is hugely impressive considering he missed practically all of the 2019/20 season through injury.

Thauvin moving to Leicester would be a real kick in the teeth for Newcastle, because the chances are that he would be a real success for them.
Barring Under, Leicester’s recruitment has been excellent in recent years.
Thauvin was perhaps not ready for the Premier League the first time around, but his statistics speak for themselves since leaving Newcastle.
He is a hugely productive player now in his late twenties, and him going to Leicester would potentially bring Newcastle’s sale in 2017 under the microscope.
