Newcastle United full-back Emil Krafth is stalling over a possible £2.7 million move to Istanbul Basaksehir, after the player started against Arsenal on Monday.
According to the Daily Mail, the 24-cap Sweden international is now considering staying at St. James’ Park, after reports in Turkey had claimed he was on the move.
Krafth, who has been struggling for game time this season, was handed a start against the Gunners on Monday night and is seemingly now open to remaining at the club.
During his time at the club, Krafth has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot, vying with DeAndre Yedlin and Javier Manquillo for minutes.
He’s made 29 appearances for the club to date following his arrival in the summer of 2019.
There’s a chance he could still depart this month, and his decision could be made based on what kind of involvement he gets in the remaining games this month against Aston Villa and Leeds United.
Newcastle should offload Krafth
Krafth’s reported decision to stall on a possible exit will frustrate some supporters.
The 26-year-old has, by and large, underwhelmed since coming to the club and it can be argued that Yedlin and Manquillo are both better options.
