According to Spanish news outlet Estadio Deportivo, La Liga club Cadiz are interested in signing Javier Manquillo.

Last signing a contract extension with the Tyneside outfit back in 2020, the 28-year-old’s £35,000-a-week deal runs until the summer of 2024.
Having been purchased whilst Rafa Benitez was in charge at St James’ Park, it now appears the Spaniard has fallen down the hierarchy under manager Eddie Howe.
Despite amassing 19 Premier League appearances in a Toon shirt last season, the arrival of England international Kieran Trippier has meant Manquillo is yet to feature for the Magpies this season.
With the currently injured Emil Krafth also an option for Howe at right-back when fit, the former Atletico Madrid man is seemingly surplus to requirements at Darsley Park, as he missed out on being included in half of the side’s top-flight fixtures this term.
Consequently, Estadio Deportivo report Cadiz are interested in taking Manquillo off Howe’s hands, and the Magpies player would likely jump at the chance to leave as he desires more regular game-time.

Cadiz signing Manquillo could be good for all parties
With zero minutes under his belt this season, a transfer away from St James’ Park in January could be the right move for all parties involved.
Having been a strong servant for Newcastle with 104 appearances for the club, a winter switch to La Liga would get the Spaniard back on the pitch with regular minutes – something which isn’t a possibility on Tyneside this campaign.
The Magpies could do with freeing up his £35,000 weekly wages for future incomings, and Cadiz would benefit from Manquillo’s experience being added to their squad.
Whilst a transfer fee may prove to be a stumbling block in negotiations, there is potential for Newcastle to terminate his contract early – ultimately sanctioning a sale for the benefit of all sides involved.
Otherwise, if a move fails to transpire, it would be a real shame to see the 28-year-old rot on the sidelines at Darsley Park.
