Blackburn Rovers striker Adam Armstrong would reportedly be interested in making a move back to Newcastle United.
The 23-year-old left St. James’ Park back in 2018 for a fee reported to be worth £3 million in total (Sky Sports), after failing to break into the starting XI.
Armstrong had a number of loan spells to try and help develop and ultimately become a Magpies regular, but he was deemed not good enough and sold on the watch of Rafa Benitez.
Armstrong has been a huge hit for Rovers since joining (initially on loan) and has scored 53 goals in 143 appearances for the club to date.
He’s hit 17 in the Championship so far in 2020/21, and that has led to come speculation about a possible move to the Premier League.

The Chronicle have now reported that Armstrong would actually consider a move back to Newcastle, but is unlikely to force anything due to the respect he has for manager Tony Mowbray.
This term, Newcastle have struggled to score goals with summer signing Callum Wilson being heavily relied upon to deliver the goods.
Armstrong worth looking into
Armstrong is a much improved player these days, and the fact he is being linked with clubs like West Ham and Everton supports that.
Armstrong is a lifelong supporter of Newcastle and the club surely have to monitor his progress from now until the summer, and also how Blackburn fare.
If Rovers fail to win promotion, that could be a windown of opportunity for the club to bring Armstrong back, with Andy Carroll and Dwight Gayle both out of contract at the end of the season.
