After five new signings, it looks like Newcastle’s attention is turning to exits.
Steve Bruce stated that his squad is bloated and in need of trimming, with seven players transfer listed.
Those names included DeAndre Yedlin, Dan Barlaser, Jacob Murphy, Henri Saivet, Rolando Aarons, Achraf Lazaar and Yoshinori Muto. It has now been revealed by Marca that the latter is heading for Eibar.
The Spanish side have reportedly tied up a season-long loan for the Japanese forward, who has only scored once in the Premier League for the Magpies.
Eibar do not have an option to make the deal permanent according to the report. However, the ex-Mainz striker could be signed in time to face Villarreal on Saturday.
It won’t be too sad to see the 28-year-old depart given his lack of impact, although what is upsetting is the lack of opportunities handed to the £9.5 million signing.
Muto has made just seven Premier League starts since arriving from the Bundesliga. In that time, the goal against Manchester United was the only moment of celebration.
The arrival of Callum Wilson has only shoved the Rafa Benitez signing further down Bruce’s pecking order, so it makes sense for the attacker to get some game time elsewhere.
Good luck Yoshi!
