Renato Sanches is not happy at PSG and may request a move with Newcastle keen to sign him

Newcastle United were recently linked with a move for Swansea City flop Renato Sanches who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain.

It seems that life has not been all roses since Sanches made the move to the French capital with playing time hard to come by for the Portuguese international.

Sanches made the move to the French champions in the summer after an impressive season for Lille, but the move hasn’t gone according to plan as reported in L’Equipe (via Get Football News France).

Sanches has not completed 90 minutes once this season for PSG

Part of the issue for the 25-year-old has been a dreadful injury record this season which has kept him out of the first team while others have been able to cement their place. Sanches has been frustrated and has apparently complained privately about his lack of game time. He’s not yet completed 90 minutes for PSG.

Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier will be assessing the situation in the summer after failing to get the best out of Sanches at PSG like he was able to at Lille.

Newcastle will be watching on with interest having been credited with an interest in Sanches last month.

I have to be honest, this isn’t one that is floating my boat and I’m hoping it all just media speculation.

Newcastle should be looking for better than Sanches

Sanches was awful the last time he was in the Premier League with Swansea with Newcastle’s own social media team openly mocking him after his Swansea debut against the Magpies.

He did managed to regain some respect while playing for Lille, but moving to PSG doesn’t seem to have done him any favours.

Once backed as an exciting young talent, things haven’t really gone according to plan for the midfielder, but at the same time he is still young enough that he can fulfil his potential if he gets the right move.

I still think Sanches to Newcastle is too big of a risk with the club hopefully playing Champions League football next season. We need reliable, proven players who have performed throughout their career and unfortunately, Sanches doesn’t fit that bill.
