Newcastle United made a deadline day move for Leeds United’s Jack Harrison in January but now it looks like he could be off to another Premier League side.
Reports at the time suggested that Newcastle, and two other clubs, had failed in a deadline day bid to bring Leeds United‘s Jack Harrison to the club back in January.
A report in The Sun has linked David Moyes with a move for the 26-year-old this summer as West Ham look to add more firepower for next season.
Jack Harrison is expected to leave Leeds regardless of their league status
Harrison looks set to leave Leeds this summer regardless of whether or not the Yorkshire club can pull off the great escape on Sunday and now it looks like West Ham could be at the front of the queue for his signature.
The winger has four goals and seven assists for the Whites this season going into their final game against Tottenham on Sunday.
Newcastle will likely not return with another bid for Harrison as they will have their sights set higher now after qualifying for the Champions League.
Newcastle’s move for Harrison in January was a strange one
It was seen as a bit strange that Newcastle even tried to sign Harrison on deadline day in January given that they had secured the arrival of Anthony Gordon from Everton who plays a similar role.
Once described as ‘amazing‘ by Alan Shearer, Harrison is definitely a good player but now Newcastle know they are shopping in the Champions League pool I can’t see him making the grade on that shopping list.
Leicester‘s Harvey Barnes could still be an option and David Moyes has also set his sights on the 25-year-old winger.
Newcastle are still keen on James Maddison and Moussa Diaby too, both of which are arguably much better than Harrison.
