Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha looks set to become the latest star to head to Saudi Arabia for the big payday just weeks after being linked with a move to Newcastle United.

While time is running out on Wilfried Zaha‘s contract at Crystal Palace, the London club still retain some hope that a new agreement can be reached, however, Zaha now has a bumper offer from Saudi Pro League side, Al-Nassr on the table, according to Sky Sports.

Zaha was linked with a move to Newcastle towards the end of last season, but interest in the 30-year-old seems to have fizzled out with Newcastle set to look elsewhere.

Around the same time as Newcastle were linked, Al-Ittihad, who just completed the signing of Karim Benzema, were said to offer Zaha £9million-a-year to join them this summer.

Now it looks like it’s Al-Nassr, home to Cristiano Ronaldo these days, who are frontrunners having offered him a staggering £290,000-a-week (£15million a year) to join them this summer.

However, if it’s not just all about the money for Zaha, there is interest from Atletico Madrid and the option to stay at Crystal Palace.

Newcastle have bigger and better targets in mind than Zaha

Mikel Arteta of Arsenal is also said to be a fan, having called Zaha ‘phenomenal‘ and could also offer Zaha a route out of Crystal Palace.

At 30, he’s probably been deemed too old for Newcastle as they are looking to recruit younger players to bolster the squad this summer. In terms of forwards we have younger options on the table with James Maddison, Moussa Diaby and Dominik Soboszlai in our sights.

I’m quite happy for Newcastle to step aside on this one and let the other clubs fight it out.
