As Newcastle United decide to sell Alexander Isak to Liverpool, Nicolas Jackson’s future remains unresolved.

There will be a British record transfer on deadline day, with Isak set to join Liverpool for £125million.

Newcastle have decided to sell Isak, lowering their asking price without the guarantee of a replacement coming in.

It is a risky strategy from the Newcastle United owners, who are now working on bringing in another striker before the transfer window closes at 7pm.

There are options out there for the Magpies, one of which is Nicolas Jackson.

Newcastle United considering Nicolas Jackson

With his loan move to Bayern Munich collapsing, Jackson remains available for a move away from Chelsea on transfer deadline day.

That is a fact that Newcastle United are very much aware of, as they plot a last-minute deal for a forward.

According to the i Paper, the Magpies are considering a deadline day move for Jackson.

However, the i Paper add that the Newcastle recruitment team are ‘split’ as to whether the 24-year-old is the type of player they should be bringing in.

They claim that Newcastle could look to do a loan deal with an option to buy.

Newcastle United to miss out on Lois Openda

Geordie Boot Boys understand that RB Leipzig’s Lois Openda has been discussed by Toon officials, but he will not be heading to St James’ Park.

Instead, the Belgian attacker is taking his talents to Serie A.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus have agreed a deal with RB Leipzig to sign Openda on loan.

Romano states that the deal includes an obligation to buy for around £35million.

That represents good value for Juventus, as Newcastle cross one option off their list.

The Openda deal does mean that Randal Kolo Muani to Juventus is off. He is another option that the Magpies have been considering, with the 26-year-old one to keep an eye on before the window slams shut at 7pm.
