Marc Guehi is now certain to leave Crystal Palace amid interest from Newcastle United.
Newcastle United have not given up on signing Guehi despite the fact he was set to join Liverpool before a move collapsed on transfer deadline day.
Guehi reportedly wants to join Real Madrid and it remains to be seen when he actually does depart from Selhurst Park.
The England international’s contract expires in the summer of 2026. He could feasibly be sold in the January transfer window, although perhaps a move away at the end of the season would be more preferable to the player.
As a free agent, Guehi would be in a position to command a lucrative signing-on fee.
Whatever happens, staying at Palace long-term is not an option.

Marc Guehi’s next move confirmed as Crystal Palace speak out
Speaking ahead of Palace’s game against Bournemouth on Saturday, Oliver Glasner confirmed that Guehi had told the club he will not be signing a new contract.
That always seemed likely but the confirmation has now emerged.
According to Glasner, Guehi wants “something different” from his next move.
“Marc has already told us that he [won’t] sign a new contract, so he will leave next year,” he said.
“The club wanted [him to stay]. They offered Marc a new contract. But he said, ‘No, I want to make something different’. And that’s normal.”
Marc Guehi could be about to have his wish granted by Crystal Palace
Guehi’s agents did not rule out a move to Newcastle earlier this summer, although the Magpies have since signed Malick Thiaw.
A signing in central defence is no longer the priority it once was and Newcastle’s wage structure does not really allow them to match what other top clubs pay their players.
As such, it’s difficult to imagine Newcastle actually winning the race to sign Guehi despite their interest.
Interestingly, according to iNews, Palace are tempted by the prospect of trying to sell the former Chelsea youngster in January.
Madrid and Barcelona are said to be interested, with Guehi supposedly keen on a switch to Spain.
