Newcastle United reportedly remain hopeful of signing Jesse Lingard before tomorrow night’s transfer deadline.
The Magpies are in for a busy end to the January transfer window, with still only two players having signed at the time of writing.

Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood remain the only incomings for now. But there should be some announcements regarding more incomings imminently.
An agreement has been reached with Brighton for the transfer of Dan Burn. And Bruno Guimaraes has reportedly passed his medical.
According to 90min, Newcastle are still holding out hope of signing Lingard, with lines of communication between the two clubs still open.
Apparently, there is confidence from both sides that a deal will go through.
Talks are ‘as advanced as they have been’, and Newcastle have real optimism of completing the move.

Supposedly Lingard has agreed terms with Magpies.
If successful, Newcastle will be getting a player who is proven in the Premier League and has a creative eye.
He showed last season at West Ham United what he brings to the table.
For one reason or another he’s barely featured for Manchester United this season and, with a World Cup taking place later this year, he’ll be determined to shine.
Lingard will give Newcastle a huge boost if he signs on deadline day
It is a good sign that terms are apparently agreed with Lingard for him to join.
It’s just about whether the two clubs can agree a deal now. It might just be that Newcastle need to bite the bullet and pay a bit more than first intended.
Hopefully officials can facilitate the deal before tomorrow night’s deadline.

There are many better attacking midfielders out there than Lingard. But right now, he’s the ideal capture.
He’s itching to play and he proved his worth at West Ham. And of course, he has the World Cup to use as motivation.
