Newcastle United and Allan Saint-Maximin could part ways this summer, with multiple stories linking the Frenchman with a move away.
Saint-Maximin is reportedly a player who Newcastle could cash in on at the end of the season, with claims that the club will listen to offers for the 26-year-old.
Talk of an exit refuses to go away, and has been a common occurrence during Eddie Howe’s tenure as manager. The winger is no longer the Magpies’ talisman, despite still being an important player.
However, his influence has waned. Other players have stepped up, while reinforcements have been brought in. And a new report from TalkSPORT claims that one reinforcement has led to Maxi pondering his future at St James’ Park.
Saint-Maximin unsettled by Anthony Gordon’s arrival at Newcastle
According to TalkSPORT, Saint-Maximin has been questioning his role at Newcastle ever since the club signed Anthony Gordon.

The 22-year-old arrived from Everton during the January transfer window, costing £45million. It was a huge investment from PIF, with the club’s decision makers believing that Gordon has the potential to be a future star under Howe’s management.
We are yet to see that from the Scouser, who is yet to burst into life in a black and white shirt. However, patience is required. He is still a young lad who is yet to enjoy a consistent run in the team.
The best is yet to come from Gordon, and his presence appears to be have unsettled ASM – according to TalkSPORT. They add Newcastle are ready to cash in on the £16.5million Steve Bruce signing in a bid to boost their summer transfer kitty.
It is a difficult story to believe. Surely Saint-Maximin isn’t going to be that deterred by the arrival of a player in his position. He wanted the club to show more ambition – it would be hypocritical of him to be unsettled by the fact Newcastle brought in another winger.
The rumours surrounding Saint-Maximin’s future at St James’ Park refuse to go away, and are beginning to get a bit tiresome. All he can do is focus on what he does on the pitch, because if he does that and plays well then there is no reason why Newcastle would even think about cashing in.
