Newcastle United could reportedly move full-back Emil Krafth on this summer.
According to The Sun, the Sweden international is likely to find first-team chances limited in 2021/22.
Last season, Krafth had a run of games towards the end where he operated as a right-sided centre-half.
Jacob Murphy was the man selected to play right wing-back, where he did a great job.
Newcastle are said to want to bring in a new central defender this summer.
Supposedly, the club have been wading through their list of targets, and 44 names were discussed at recent scouts meetings.
Krafth had the chance to depart Newcastle in January.
But the 26-year-old wanted to stay and fight for his place.
But there’s now potential for him to move on, if the Magpies can find a buyer willing to make a suitable offer.
The player has two years remaining on his contract at St. James’ Park.
Newcastle can upgrade
Krafth has been with Newcastle for two years now following a £5 million transfer from Amiens (BBC Sport).
Arguably, he just hasn’t been consistent enough during his time at the club.
He’s had a handful of good games, but largely Krafth has struggled to cope with life in the Premier League.
Really, Newcastle should be looking to upgrade on his this summer if possible.
Someone with the ability to play at right-back and centre-back would be most ideal.
