Newcastle United have been linked with a move for AS Roma’s Carles Perez.
According to the Calciomercato, the 23-year-old might not get much game time this season.

The Spaniard joined the Serie A outfit in January 2020, but struggled for opportunities in the league last term.
Injuries and illness did not help his cause.
To date, he’s turned out 48 times for the club, but Calciomercato seem to think Jose Mourinho’s appointment at the club will not do anything for his his starting prospects.
Apparently, Newcastle have been tracking Perez since last year.

Genoa and Torino have also been showing interest.
It’s noted that Roma are needing to sell players right now, and they are giving thought to the idea of offloading Perez, who was previously described as someone who ‘has the nose for more goals’, and ‘strikes the ball really well’ by his old Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde (Barca Blaugranes).
Newcastle looking at Willock alternatives?
News of Newcastle being interested in Perez may be ominous.
It has been reported today that Joe Willock’s proposed move back to the club is stalling due to personal terms not being agreed.

One wonders if the Magpies are preparing to look at other players in case the Englishman doesn’t complete a move.
Despite being a natural winger, Perez is versatile enough to be able to operate centrally in those attacking midfield areas.
