Newcastle United have reportedly identified a potential alternative to Joe Willock in the form of Irfan Can Kahveci, but his latest comments suggest he isn’t looking to move.
According to Fanatik, the Magpies have been showing interest in the talented 26-year-old, who plays for Fenerbahce.

According to the publication, Newcastle were preparing to make an offer.
That update came amid continued uncertainty about the potential for Willock to return to St. James’ Park.
After Willock missed Arsenal’s game against Hibernian last week, manager Mikel Arteta stated that it was due to a small injury, and that he was a part of his plans.

Newcastle had identifed Kahveci as a potential alternative, and are said to have been watching him for some time.
But it seems he is very much concentrating on fighting for the title with Fenerbahce in the upcoming season.
He said (via Aspor): “We want to put an end to the longing for the championship this season. With the support of our fans, we will reach a happy ending and make them happy. That’s what we think.”
Newcastle must redouble Willock efforts
Kahveci would have been a decent addition for Newcastle, but Willock is the man Newcastle need to be fighting tooth and nail over.

During his spell last term, Willock showed he can bring drive to the midfield and crucially, goals.
He is also a very hard worker on the pitch.
He has proven what a difference he makes to Steve Bruce’s side, and should be the number one priority.
