Newcastle United have reportedly seen a £1.5 million bid for Dion Sanderson rejected.
The Magpies are said to have failed with an early offer for the Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster, according to the Mirror.

The youngster is in demand after a very good season on loan at Sunderland.
Sanderson really impressed at the Stadium of Light, earning regular starter status after the turn of the year.
Black Cats boss Lee Johnson branded him ‘an absolute Rolls-Royce’ of a player (Chronicle).
And former Wolves and Sunderland player Stephen Elliott said he was the best loan player at the club since Jonny Evans.

Newcastle’s bid may have been turned down, but the club are undeterred.
Given Sunderland’s desire to sign him as one of their own, the Magpies could soon go back in with a fresh offer.
Supposedly, Wolves value the 21-year-old at £2 million.
Sanderson would be a risk, but he’s exciting
Sanderson has only ever turned out once for Wolves’ first-team – against Aston Villa in an EFL Cup clash.

He’s never played in the Premier League, which would make his potential signing a bit of a risk.
But he really did wow last term, and plays with a real maturity about him.
Surely the prospect of snatching him away from Sunderland will give Newcastle all the motivation they need to get a deal done.
