Newcastle United are reportedly considering a move for Steve Cook in January.
The Sun have claimed the Magpies are ready to turn to the Bournemouth defender, whom Eddie Howe obviously knows well.

Cook has just returned to the Cherries starting XI after spell on the sidelines with injury.
The 30-year-old had a knee injury, but he has featured in the last three games for the club.
It is thought that Howe could raid his old club if he cannot land James Tarkowski and/or Ben Mee from Burnley.
It was recently reported by The Athletic’s Adam Crafton that Tarkowski would be likely to stay at Turf Moor for the rest of the season.
Cook has been with Bournemouth since 2012, joining for just £150,000 following a successful loan.
He has been a fantastic servant for the club, making 386 appearances to date.

Cook is actually out of contract next summer, and he spoke about his future recently to the Bournemouth Echo.
He said in November: “Initially my future is… at the moment, I can’t say. There’s no real thoughts at the moment – I am kind of still desperate to contribute but we will see what happens.”
Newcastle secured their first Premier League clean sheet of the season last weekend against Burnley.
But the club undoubtedly need at least a couple of new centre-backs next month.
Eddie Howe should be trusted as Newcastle eye Steve Cook transfer
A transfer for Steve Cook probably wouldn’t be on many Newcastle supporters’ wishlist.
Obviously he plays in the Championship, and his recent knee injury would be a concern.
But Newcastle’s position in the Premier League table could make things difficult when it comes to player recruitment next month.

That said, Howe should be backed if he wants to bring in Cook.
The manager previously called the star ‘very aggressive aerially’ and said he loves to defend (via Four Four Two).
He has worked with him before and the star does have Premier League experience. It might just be a decent signing, although another couple in would be most ideal.
