Newcastle United remain in dialogue with Arsenal over the potential move of Joe Willock.
The Magpies are fighting to bring the 21-year-old back to St. James’ Park, after he wowed on loan last season.

It remains to be seen if the club will be successful in their pursuit.
At the moment, Newcastle are waiting on Arsenal and the player’s decision according to Sky Sports.
Hopefully there will be some movement soon, with the new Premier League season less than a month away now.
The Athletic bring an interest report today.
Apparently if Newcastle are unsuccessful in their pursuit of Willock, they could look to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles as an alternative.

Maitland-Niles, who has five caps for England, is another player who has struggled for regular minutes at the Emirates Stadium.
Leicester City, Southampton and Burnley have all been linked with the versatile 23-year-old (via Daily Star).
Maitland-Niles would be a good signing
Willock is obviously the main priority and Newcastle have simply got to get that deal done.
But Maitland-Niles would not be a bad alternative, as disappointing as missing out on Willock would be.

He’s a player who looked really good in the 2019/20 season.
The star – who Arsenal supposedly value at around £20 million (The Sun) – would bring industry, tenacity and technical quality to Newcastle’s midfield and of course, he is also versatile enough to fill in at wing-back.
