Newcastle United will reportedly table a proposal for Rafa Silva within the come days.
According to Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha, the club are set to act on their interest in the Benfica man, who caught the eye at Euro 2020.

Newcastle have long been linked with Silva. The Sunday Mirror (27/06, page 74) recently claimed the club are actually in pole position.
Benfica are said to be open to negotiating. But they would expect to receive at least €25 million/£21.4 million.
Silva scored nine goals and laid on 10 assists for Benfica in 2020/21.

He continued his good form into the Euros, shining for Portugal against Hungary in particular.
It remains to be seen if Newcastle will table an offer close to Benfica’s asking price.
The player does actually have a €60 million/£51.4 million release clause. He won’t depart for that figure, but it effectively enables Benfica to demand whatever they want.
Silva would be a great signing
Hopefully Newcastle are indeed planning to make their move on Silva.
He is a player that has been on the club’s radar for a while now.

He’s clearly someone capable of making things happen in the final third and at 28, he’s an experienced player who could make an immediate impact.
Newcastle fans likely won’t hold their breath, but he would be a solid addition.
