Leeds United are reportedly open to selling Newcastle United target Cody Drameh in January.
That is according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, who believe that the right-back is one of the players who Jesse Marsch is willing to let leave the club permanently when the January transfer window opens.
That news will encourage Newcastle, who have been linked with signing the young defender in recent weeks. The Daily Mail claimed earlier in November that the Magpies are one of the clubs interested in taking Drameh away from Leeds. They also stated that Borussia Dortmund are keen.
Fabrizio Romano has also backed up these claims, and added two more clubs into the mix. He believes that Lille and Bayer Leverkusen are also interested.
There are plenty of clubs keeping an eye on Drameh, and it looks like a move away from Elland Road could now be on the horizon.

Newcastle handed golden chance as Leeds plan to sell Drameh
The Yorkshire Evening Post’s report adds that Drameh is keen to play football at a higher level, currently spending most of his days in Premier League 2 action.
The 20-year-old excelled in the Championship last season whilst on loan with Cardiff, and was described as ‘phenomenal‘ by then manager Steve Morison.
The former Fulham talent had hoped to feature more regularly in the top flight after returning to his parent club, but that hasn’t been the case. Drameh has made just one Premier League appearance this season, starting in Leeds’ 5-2 defeat to Brentford.
Now he wants a move away, and Newcastle will hopefully be ready to pounce. He fits the profile of what Dan Ashworth is looking for, tasked with finding a young backup for Kieran Trippier.
But will that interest Drameh? He isn’t playing at Leeds, and he probably isn’t going to play at Newcastle. There’s no chance he will be able to replace Trippier straight away.
Therefore, Newcastle may have to present a long term vision to Drameh to convince him to move to St James’ Park. He will need to see a clear route for him to eventually replace Trippier in Eddie Howe’s starting XI.
With Leeds open to selling and Drameh keen to leave, all that’s left for Newcastle to do is produce an acceptable offer and convince the player. But the first major hurdle has been overcome – Leeds are willing sellers.
Now we will see just how much Newcastle really want to sign Drameh.
