The January transfer window may be over, but speculation continues about potential incomings at Newcastle United.
The club finished last month with five new faces in the end.

Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood, Bruno Guimaraes, Matt Targett and Dan Burn are the players Eddie Howe will desperately hope can raise the level at St. James’ Park and ultimately help guide the team to safety.
It was a big effort from the new owners last month. They were really up against it dealing with clubs putting mammoth asking prices on their players.
There is already speculation about what Newcastle may do in the summer.
Of course, what they are able to do depends massively on staying in the Premier League.
Should the club achieve that, the transfer world could be their oyster.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Magpies already have an eye of Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz.

The Italian outlet claims Newcastle have gone right to the heart of discussions. But the club face competition in the form of Arsenal, Liverpool and the two Manchester clubs.
This summer, Ruiz will only have a year remaining on his contract.
So there is a very good chance Napoli will be seeking to do business and offload the Spaniard.
Interestingly, Newcastle have been linked with a move for Ruiz in the past. The Sun reported in January 26 2018 (pg 59) that the Magpies – then managed by Rafa Benitez – were looking at the star.
Newcastle need to survive relegation to stand any chance of landing Fabian Ruiz
With lots of other clubs apparently circling, it goes without saying Newcastle need to retain their Premier League status to sign Ruiz this summer.
He simply isn’t going to go and play in the Championship, even for a pretty penny.

Hopefully Newcastle can stay in the division and go ahead and snap up Ruiz.
The idea of him in a midfield partnership with Bruno Guimaraes is very appealing indeed.
The 25-year-old has been one of Napoli’s most consistent performers this season, and has posted a pass accuracy of 91.6% in Serie A so far (WhoScored) which is highly impressive. He’s also chipped in with five goals and four assists.
