Newcastle United are looking to sign a left-back this summer, and a new name on the Magpies’ radar is Jordan Zemura.
According to 90min, Bournemouth‘s Zemura is attracting interest from multiple Premier League clubs, one of which is Newcastle.
They report that Eddie Howe’s side are admirers of the 23-year-old, who is set to become a free agent this summer.
He has been in talks over a new long-term deal at the Vitality Stadium, but was dropped from the Cherries’ squad for the win over Liverpool due to his ongoing contract situation.
That has alerted multiple clubs to his situation, with 90min stating that West Ham are leading the race to sign the left-sided defender this summer. The other clubs that are apparently in the mix are Aston Villa and Leeds, while there is also reportedly interest from overseas.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has signed Jordan Zemura before
While West Ham might have the most interest, Newcastle will feel they have an ace up their sleeve if they do try to sign Zemura.
That is because Eddie Howe was the man in charge of Bournemouth when he joined the Cherries in 2019. Zemura was signed by Bournemouth after a successful trial, but never actually played for Howe.
But he did play for Jason Tindall. He replaced Howe at Bournemouth, and gave Zemura his debut in September 2020.
The left-back is clearly a player that Howe and Tindall know well, and he has also impressed against Newcastle this season. He has played in all three of the games between the two sides, and got an assist at St James’ Park back in September.
His form this season and relationship with the Newcastle coaching setup makes him an intriguing option, but most fans will be hoping that first choice Kieran Tierney is the left-back who arrives at St James’ Park this summer.
He is much more established than Zemura, who would not feel like an upgrade on our current options Dan Burn and Matt Targett.
