There’s been a huge change in Martin Dubravka’s supposed exit from Newcastle United.

Just when Newcastle looked to have gotten the ball rolling with outgoings, it all came crashing back down. Sporting director Paul Mitchell knows Newcastle needs to fund arrivals through sales but after more than a week, funds haven’t been raised.

The clock is slowly ticking to get work done, Howe is adamant on signing a right winger in January to complete a formidable front line to join forces with Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak.

Newcastle have a lengthy list of players to sell as contracts wind down and others sit on the bench or train with the reserves. Fans now anticipate arrivals to keep Newcastle’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League up.

Newcastle working to keep Martin Dubravka on Tyneside

Martin Dubravka’s move away from Newcastle looked a certainty until Thursday. The Slovakian had reportedly agreed personal terms with Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab. However, the Daily Mail have reported that Newcastle are now working with the 35-year-old to keep him at the club.

His contract is up at the end of the season, but the report suggests Dubravka doesn’t want to extend his Newcastle deal.

Dubravka had an emotional moment with Newcastle fans following the Magpies win at Arsenal on Tuesday night – it now seems like that was all a bit premature.

Arsenal eyeing summer move for Bryan Mbeumo

Newcastle have been linked to Bryan Mbeumo since the beginning of the Premier League season. The Cameroon international has had a great start to the campaign, scoring 13 goals in 20 games while bagging three assists.

Mbeumo is valued at around £50million but a January move looks to be difficult. Bees boss Thomas Frank is reluctant to let Mbeumo go. He said “good luck” to any side who wishes to sign him in January.

Now, according to Florian Plettenberg, Arsenal have added Mbeumo to their list of targets in the summer – the Gunners are eager to improve their right-wing position following Bukayo Saka’s injury setback.

Newcastle United like Bournemouth’s Illia Zabarnyi

Newcastle are hoping there will be funds for a centre-back in January – according to the i they have identified Bournemouth defender Illia Zabarnyi as a potential option.

The Magpies are set to rival Chelsea for Zabarnyi who at just 22 years old has established himself as a reliable option for Cherries boss Andoni Iraola.

It looks unlikely that Newcastle would sign Zabarnyi given his contract isn’t up until 2029, his age means Bournemouth will most likely require a large fee to allow him to leave.

Zabarnyi is a potential alternative to Abdukodir Khusanov who looks set to sign for Manchester City.
