Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has promised he won’t be leaving Tyneside anytime soon.
Speaking on The Footballer’s Football Podcast with West Ham United’s Michail Antonio, the Toon no.9 shared his allegiance to the north-east club.
“I ain’t going anywhere,” said Wilson.
“I’m black and white through and through!”
TalkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor recently claimed the 30-year-old wouldn’t leave the Magpies to join the likes of Manchester United, if the opportunity arose.
Therefore, it’s great for Newcastle fans to receive that confirmation, as Wilson has played a crucial part for Eddie Howe’s side since he arrived at the club in 2020.
Wilson isn’t going anywhere!
This will be music to the ears of Newcastle fans, who have grown a real affinity for the attacker since he signed from Bournemouth in a deal worth £20m.
Since his arrival, Wilson has gone on to produce a fantastic record in a black and white shirt; in 59 Premier League appearances, he has bagged 26 goals and eight assists.
This season in particular, the England international has played an even bigger part in the side’s success.
In 15 top-flight matches, Wilson has scored six goals and produced three assists. Although he hasn’t gotten back firing to the point he was at prior to the World Cup, the forward remains equally as crucial to Howe’s plans.
Following the departure of Chris Wood to Nottingham Forest, the 30-year-old will continue to play a huge part for the Magpies going forward.
They still remain in the mix for a spot in the top-four, and they are on course to challenge for the Carabao Cup.
