According to the Sun, Leeds are part of a lengthening queue of clubs interested in Jacob Murphy.
The 26-year-old has been Newcastle’s surprise star this season.
In a campaign that has had plenty of twists and turns, the emergence of Murphy has arguably been the biggest shock.
This time last year he wasn’t even at the club. He was on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, dropping down to the Championship for the second year in a row.
But as a right wing-back, Murphy has forced himself into Steve Bruce’s side.

He first played there against Wolves last October, where he scored a dramatic equaliser late on.
Since then, he’s chipped in with his fair share of assists and goals. And he’s been doing this whilst having added defensive responsibilities.
Murphy has started the last seven games in a row. That’s his longest run in the starting XI since joining Newcastle in 2017.
However, he is now a man in demand.
Leeds and co fancy Murphy move
Murphy’s contract is set to expire this summer, leading to links of £6million move away.
According to the Sun, Murphy has plenty of clubs interested in him.
From the Premier League, Leeds, Southampton and Burnley are keen. Watford are too, as they prepare for a return to the top flight.

The Sun also mention Porto and Bayer Leverkusen, although a move to either feels unlikely for multiple reasons.
But it’s the interest of Leeds United that should cause the biggest concern.
The Yorkshire side have been the surprise package of the Premier League this season.
They’ve arguably been the most entertaining side in the division, and are on course to finish in the top half. That’s all the more impressive considering this is their first season back in the top flight since 2004.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side play an exciting brand of football that looks a joy to be a part of. That’s why Leeds’ interest in Murphy is concerning.

The way in which Bielsa has improved so many players is remarkable. Players like Stuart Dallas have been sensational this season. He could surely do the same for Murphy.
And the Toon man has shown his versatility, a quality that Bielsa will no doubt admire.
For £6million, Murphy would be a real bargain.
Newcastle need to show their commitment to Murphy and offer him a new deal as soon as possible.
He’s proven this season that he can be an important player at St James’ Park. Now we must reward him or risk losing him.
