Newcastle United are not giving up hope of trying to sign Liam Delap.
Eddie Howe is eager to sign a striker this summer. The Magpies need more cover for Alexander Isak, which was evident during Newcastle’s 1-0 loss to Arsenal on Sunday.
With Alexander Isak injured, Newcastle United were unable to find the net. Callum Wilson was poor ahead of his looming exit, while Will Osula is not trusted by the Newcastle United manager.
That is why Howe is looking for someone else, with Newcastle interested in Liam Delap.
Geordie Boot Boys have been told that Delap’s preference is to join Manchester United, but Toon officials are still preparing to shoot their shot for the 22-year-old.

Newcastle United prepare to make pitch to Liam Delap
As Ipswich Town get set for their final Premier League game of the season before returning to the Championship, Delap is trying to sort out his future.
The forward has been heavily linked with Manchester United and Chelsea, while Newcastle United are also in the conversation.
The Magpies are going to get a chance to try and convince the player to move to Tyneside, with TalkSPORT reporting that Newcastle United will hold face-to-face transfer talks with Delap this week.
They will do their best to sell the club to Delap, who is available for £30million due to a relegation release clause in his contract. For a player with so much potential, that fee represents huge value.

Jamie Carragher issues transfer plea to Liam Delap
The fear is that Newcastle are fighting a losing battle.
Manchester United are in pole position to sign Delap, who TalkSPORT claim is keen on a move back to the North West of England.
A move to Old Trafford would likely see Delap become the main man up front, with Rasmus Hojlund failing to live up to the hype at Manchester United.
However, Jamie Carragher has warned Delap against a move to the Red Devils.
During Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, the former Liverpool defender stated that he does not think Manchester United is the right place for Delap.
“I don’t think Delap should go to Man United,” he said.
“You’re going from a team who have been relegated. I know Man United are 16th, but it’s Man United. One of the biggest clubs in the world. I just think that’s such a big step. I know people might say it is from there [18th] to there [16th] in terms of league position, but Man United is a monster.
“I do [think he would be an upgrade on Hojlund]. I just think almost that next step of… Everton, or somewhere you’re going to play every week, you’re going to be the main man, feel like one of the best players in the team. He’s the best player at Ipswich, everything goes through him.
“Go to another club like that for two years, then go to that Manchester United or a team trying to compete at that Champions League level.”
