Newcastle United have reportedly knocked back several approaches from Championship clubs for Elliot Anderson today.
That’s the information provided by The Chronicle’s Lee Ryder, who says that the player has been told he is in line for more first-team chances.
Anderson is viewed as one of the brightest prospects at the club, and recently made his debut for the first-team against Arsenal in the FA Cup.
The starlet made a big impression after coming on late against the Gunners, although he was powerless to prevent the team’s exit from competition.
Anderson’s rise is something that is very exciting for a lot of Newcastle fans, who have watched the team’s midfield largely struggle this season.
The likes of Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden, Jeff Hendrick and the Longstaff brothers have all disappointed, and some are waiting for the youngster to force his way in.
News of the club’s stance over Anderson on transfer deadline will likely be welcomed by most.

Surely if Steve Bruce didn’t intend to use Anderson he would be permitting him a loan move today.
Things, of course, could change with no guarantees when it comes to the final hours of the transfer window, but for now it does look like the talented teenager isn’t going anywhere.
Him sticking around can help him to get a taste of the Premier League, and then a decision can be taken in the summer about whether he needs a loan depending on how he got on.
